1. The neighborhood
The home itself is certainly important, but you may want to start with the neighborhood. You need to find an area you’re comfortable in and one that gives you what you want. If you have kids, you may want to find a location with nearby parks or playgrounds. If you would rather not have to drive everywhere, look for an area that gives you the opportunity to walk to stores or restaurants. Don’t be afraid to visit potential neighborhoods several times to get a feel for them. And once you’ve found a spot you love, it’s time to move on to the house.
2. The size and layout
It’s important to find a home that gives you the right space, but this is often easier said than done. If, for instance, where you currently live is just the right size for you and your family, you may want the same amount of space in your new home. But it’s always a good idea to think about the future. This may include more children or perhaps a parent or grandparent moving in. The layout is another thing you don’t want to forget. Open concepts may be trendy right now, but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. When you visit an open house or even just look through pics online, imagine how you and your family will use the space. You also need to think about the lot size. A beautiful house on a sliver of land might not be ideal.
3. Key features
